Durian
Origin: Burma to Malaysia
The spiny green to yellow Durian fruit is notorious for its putrid smell. Predominantly cultivated as a fruit tree in Asia, the Durio zibethinus can grow up to 40 m in the wild. It can be eaten as tinned fruit, beaten to make a paste, sorbets or ice cream. The shell of the fruit and leaves are used for medicinal purposes.
